Why We Built Orthos
There’s no shortage of Bible apps. Most fall into one of two extremes: simple readers that stop at the surface, or expensive, bloated platforms built for academic workflows that haven’t meaningfully evolved in decades.
Orthos was built to be neither.
We wanted a study environment that takes Scripture seriously—one that honors the original languages, literary structure, and canonical context—without overwhelming the reader or hiding clarity behind complexity. At the same time, we believed that a modern study tool should feel intuitive, beautiful, and responsive to how people actually study today.
Orthos exists to remove friction between the reader and the text.
Our Philosophy
Ad Fontes
The closer you get to the source, the clearer the water. Orthos prioritizes access to the biblical text itself—its words, structure, and relationships—over layers of commentary and opinion.
Technology as a Servant
AI is not here to replace study, interpretation, or discernment. In Orthos, AI functions as an assistant: surfacing connections, organizing structure, and accelerating discovery—while leaving meaning in the hands of the reader.
Clarity Over Noise
Rather than flooding users with disconnected tools and features, Orthos is designed around focused study flows. Everything exists to help you see what’s already there in the text—nothing more, nothing less.
Open Access
Serious Bible study should not require institutional access or a four-figure subscription. Orthos is built on the conviction that depth, rigor, and thoughtful design should be available to anyone who wants to study Scripture carefully.
